The Seattle Seahawks beat the Atlanta Falcons Week 8 to advance to a 4-0 road start for the first time since 1980. Now at 6-2 on the year at the halfway mark, the Seahawks have their hopes for a playoff run, but there is much more work to be done.
Seattle could now be without its starting center for the remainder of the season. Early in the first quarter, Justin Britt left the game with a left leg injury the team now believes could be a torn ACL. Joey Hunt subbed in for Britt and ended up logging 90% of the Seahawks offensive snaps.
Substitutions were also made on the defensive side of the ball, including Bradley McDougald briefly appearing in place of safety Marquise Blair, who was temporarily sidelined with cramps.
Not all the personnel changes were injury-related, however.
“No. Guys are just deserving an opportunity to get in the game,” coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “And if we have a chance to not overwork guys we’re trying to do that. It’s a long haul. Just halfway through, so just trying to make good decisions to get that done.”
Here’s a look at the complete Week 8 snap counts and playtime percentages for both the Seahawks and the Falcons.
