A few observations from the Dallas Cowboys loss to the New York Jets. There was some good, some bad and some downright ugly play.

The Dallas Cowboys lost their third game of the season on Sunday to the previously winless New York Jets. For the second week in a row, the first half was mostly ugly for the Cowboys.

The Week Six contest against the Jets was like most football games with plays you loved and plays you would love to forget. Below we’ll breakdown the good, the bad, and the downright ugly of the Cowboys’ third loss of the season.

The Good

There are bound to be some good plays in a football game. Even a game where the Cowboys were favored by a touchdown on the road but found a way to lose.

Defensive end Robert Quinn continues to find ways to sack the quarterback. He recorded 2.0 sacks bringing his season total to 5.0 in four games. But they were the only sacks recorded by the Cowboys.

Kicker Brett Maher made 50 and 62-yard field goals in the first half. The 62-yard field goal as time expired in the first half tied a Cowboys record that Maher had previously set. Yet, he missed a 40 yard field goal in the third quarter in a game the Cowboys lost by two points.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott eclipsed the 100 yard mark for the third time this season. However, he was not able to convert a third and one from the Jets six yard line in the second quarter only to see the Cowboys turn the ball over on downs the next play.

Maybe the best thing to say about the Cowboys loss to the Jets is that Dallas remains tied for first place in the NFC East. This time last year, America’s team had the same 3-3 record and were one game behind the first-place Washington Redskins.
