The strange saga of Odell Beckham Jr.’s trip to watch his beloved LSU Tigers in the national championship game might finally be coming to a close. Days after an arrest warrant for simple battery was issued against the Browns wide receiver, the victim of Beckham’s aggressive slap has decided to not press charges.

Beckham was captured on video giving a slap to the butt of a security officer in the LSU locker room following the Tigers’ win on Monday night. Stemming from that, an arrest warrant was issued for Beckham. The former LSU wideout just finished his first season with the Cleveland Browns.

According to a report from NOLA.com, the officer involved in the locker room incident has elected to not press charges.

By Friday evening, the 48-year-old officer had signed an affidavit stating he did not wish to press charges against Beckham, 27, a day after New Orleans police obtained a warrant to book the Pro Bowl receiver on a count of simple battery, the sources said.

The arrest warrant can now be dismissed, if the issuing bench chooses.

Beckham also faced scrutiny for passing out cash to various LSU players following the game.
