The Seattle Seahawks have a short week as they prepare to face the Los Angles Rams on Thursday night for their first prime-time game of the regular season.
Seattle is 8-1 on Thursday nights under coach Pete Carroll and 26-5-1 in prime-time matchups. The Seahawks have outscored opponents 834-465 on the national stage. Facing a division rival in the spotlight makes a win even that more important.
“This is a really good football team we’re playing,” Carroll said Monday. “We’re steeped into that right now. They’ve been great ever since Sean McVay got there. They’re off to a really good start again. They had a rough game yesterday, an unusual one for them. They got all kinds of firepower. They’re loaded and it’s going to be a great matchup. It’s going to take everything.
After a loss to Tampa Bay at home, the Rams are now 3-1 on the season and hungry to notch a division win to regain control of the NFC West. Similarly, Seattle would like nothing more than to take over the top spot.
“It’s a game we need to play,” Carroll continued. “We need to be involved in games like this. If you’re going to have a good season, you’ve got to be able to match up and play these kinds of games and do a good job. I’m looking forward to it.”
